ABOUT THE JOURNAL
The Canadian Journal of General Internal Medicine (CJGIM) is the official publication of the Canadian Society of Internal Medicine (CSIM). The journal has a well-respected editorial board and provides a sharp focus on the topics and issues facing the profession of Internal Medicine with a combination of clinical and scientific original articles. CJGIM is a hybrid journal, published four times per year in both a print version and as an open access publication. All accepted and peer reviewed articles will be published in the on-line open access version of the journal. Select articles will be published in the print version.
The CJGIM accepts submissions under the categories of original research articles, review articles, case reports, letters to the editor, and book reviews. The CJGIM also publishes selected conference abstracts and special supplemental issues.
The CJGIM has recently been accepted and listed in the Emerging Citation Index (ECI), through Thompson Reuters. All articles are archived through the ECI, Portico and CrossRef.

ARTICLE PROCESSING CHARGES
As of January 1, 2018, the CJGIM’s APC is $750 (USD) per article. The APC will be waived for authors who are Full Members and Physician Associates (with dues currently paid) of the Canadian Society of Internal Medicine (CSIM) as well as for CSIM Resident, Student and Senior Associates. The APC will also be waived for any author submitting original research and review articles.
The APC is billed upon acceptance of an article, after it has completed the peer review process. There are no additional charges based on color, length, figures, or other elements. Letters to the Editor and select invited articles are not charged an APC.
Authors living in countries not considered “least developed” (as per the list of countries) who do not have the ability to pay the APC may be eligible for a reduced APC. Please contact the publisher directly to make a formal request at jbirkby@dougmargroup.com.
